Continuing their dominance in the FIH women’s series finals, India defeated Chile 4-2 in the semi-finals on Saturday at Hiroshima.

Chile shocked the higher ranked team India by opening the account at the 18th minute, thanks to Carolina Garcia. Four minutes later, Gurjit Kaur equalled the score.

Navneet and Gurjit then scored again moving to 3-1.
Then Manuela Urroz scored Chile’s second goal in the 43rd minute to reduce the gap to 3-2. In the 57th minute, captain Rani Rampal scored the 4th goal for India to make it impossible for Chile to bounce back.

India will meet either Russia or Japan in the final. The top two teams have now qualified for the 2020 Olympics qualifier.
