Jofra Archer unlikely to recover in time for IPL

England pacer Jofra Archer is doubtful for this IPL season as he is yet to recover completely from his elbow injury. He is “recovering as expected” following the scan report.

Archer, 24, will have another scan in mid-April before returning for Sussex in the County Championship in May. The 2020 IPL season runs from 29 March to 24 May.

Archer said that he is making progress and is finger crossed about playing in IPL.

England report strictly suggested that Archer’s “focus will be playing for England”.

He was selected by Rajasthan Royals and is one of their main bowlers. He has taken 26 wickets at 23.69 apiece in 21 IPL matches.
