On this day, South Africa played their first (in fact, first two T20I matches on the same day) T20I match, and this match also marked the debut of Suzie Bates, Ros Kimber, Rowan Milburn and Selena Charteris.
Batting first, New Zealand scored 186 for 7 with opener Suzie Bates scoring 62 off 37. Later, the vital partnership between Haidee Tiffen (30 off 21) and Aimee Watkins (35 off 20) followed by Sarah Tsukigawa’s 14-ball 22 took New Zealand to the total.
In return, South Africa tumbled as Helen Watson picked up early wickets and also the White Ferns were sharp in the field with three run-outs.

Minutes later, we had Charlotte Edwards scoring 64 off 36 against the same opponent, South Africa, who went down by 87 runs.
Beth Morgan also helped with 40 off 22 deliveries to take England to 180 for 5. In reply, South Africa got out for 94 with Jenny Gunn picking up 4 for 9 in her two overs. Logtenberg top-scored for South Africa with 29.
