RR vs DC, Match 7- RR win by 3 wickets

It was yet another day where the bowlers had the last laugh. All these days, we have seen low-scoring games in Chennai. This is probably the first time at Wankhede, we are witnessing a close finish for a low-scoring game.

Batting first, Delhi openers had no idea when Unadkat did his usual magic. The Saurashtra captain is playing his first game here and in the powerplay, he ran through the batting order of Delhi. Now, that includes a superman from Samson.

Soon, Delhi found themselves at 37 for 4. The team had dropped Hetmyer for Rabada and Lalit Yadav played his first game as well.

Yadav played a perfect second fiddle for his skipper. When wickets were falling at one end, Pant was playing his natural game, ended with 51 from 32. In the end, late cameos from Curran and Woakes helped the team to reach 147.

When one thought that they were at least 30 runs short here, their pacers had other ideas. Woakes, Avesh Khan and Rabada were just too good for the team as none of their top order got to double figures.

David Miller, playing his first game here, batted sensibly for his 62 from 43 and had the support of Tewatia who scored 19.

The run-rate kept ticking and at one point the team found themselves needing a minimum of four and six in an over.

Unadkat and Morris had a huge job in front of them and Delhi bowlers made it easier for them.

While Unadkat had six to his name, he was happier to give the strike to Morris. The latter, who usually is just too good against pacers, took on Rabada in the penultimate over, had a couple of sixes to his name.

In the final over, the team needed only 13 runs and Tom Curran couldn’t get the ball in the right areas. A back of the hand slower delivery went horribly wrong and then there was a full-toss. Morris is just too good to miss out on those as he cleared the fence twice and took his team to a thrilling win against the last year’s runners up.

This is Rajasthan’s first win this season and also their first win against Delhi since 2019.
