Rupa takes charge as TNCA president; says opening Chepauk IJK stands is her 1st duty

Rupa Gurunath has taken charge as the TNCA President after being unanimously elected for the position.

Rupa is the director of India Cements which owns the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. N Srinivasan is her father and Gurunath Maiyappan, who is banned for life after his involvement in the spot-fixing scandal, is her husband.

Rupa, after taking charge, announced that her first priority is to look into the case of the closed stands at the Chepauk Stadium.

“My immediate priorities are to finalise the Lease Agreement with the Government and opening the three stands. Of course, TNCA has zero-tolerance for any form of corruption and TNCA will take appropriate action on any such issues,” she said in a statement.
