T20 Nippon Cup, match 1: Ameya Sports defeat Heron Sports by 4 wickets

In the 1st match of the tournament, Ameya Sports went on to chase 145 with ease in a thriller as they open their account with a win in the tournament.

Led by Veda Krishnamurthy, Ameya bowled first and did well to restrict Heron Sports for 144. Heron went on to lose Shubha early but Minu Mani and skipper Divya added important partnership to take the team to decent total on a good batting surface.

Divya was the stand-out performer with 87* from just 55 deliveries with 11 fours and 3 sixes. For Ameya, Anuja Patil and Akanksha Kohli grabbed a wicket each.

In return, Monica Patel dismissed both the openers of Ameya to add pressure on the team but the team bounced back with a sensible partnership between Nikki Prasad and Skipper Veda. Nikki scored 61 while Veda scored 39. In the end, the team began to lose wickets and had to score 3 off last four deliveries. Anuja then took the team home safe with 17* from 9. She added a tiny partnership with the other tail-enders to take the team home in the end.
