Upton reveals what separates Dhoni from others as captain

With no doubts, MS Dhoni has been one of the vital cogs in the Indian line-up for years now. He captained the Indian team that lifted the trophy in 2011 and ended India’s World Cup 28-year-long wait for the second World Cup.

In this 2019 World Cup, Dhoni’s mind games, batting along with Keeping will be important for the team if they are going to lift the trophy for the third time.

Now, India’s former mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton, who was a part of the backroom staff during India’s World Cup triumph in 2011, revealed what makes Dhoni a successful captain.

He said: “He has calmness, composure, clarity and he influences other players. They are able to feel calm and composed themselves. The knowledge that Dhoni would come to the crease after them makes the batsmen feel easier. He manages the high-pressure moments well. He has an intuitive feeling for the game,” as quoted by THE HINDU.

Dhoni will join the team soon which will leave to London on May 22.
