Windies batter Merissa Aguilleira retires from international cricket

The former West Indian captain Merissa Aguilleira retires from international cricket. She announced the news on April 24th, Thursday.

The veteran who played 112 ODIs and 95 T20Is has 1752 and 768 runs respectively.

Most importantly, Aguilleria was a great leader, leading the side for more than six years. Including three T20I World Cups.

“I wish to thank all members of the team with which I worked and that worked with me to secure success in our endeavours to bring pleasure, pride, happiness and inspiration to West Indian people everywhere,” Aguilleira said in a Cricket West Indies statement.

“It is an absolute honour to have been of service to West Indies cricket. My continued goal is to assist CWI to build and develop women’s cricket and help others like me to achieve their dreams.” She added.
