T20 WC, 19th match, PAKvTL: Dream debut for Thailand and disappointing end for Pakistan

T20 WC, 19th match, Pakistan v Thailand: Match Preview

On the last day of the league stage of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Pakistan take on Thailand at Sydney. Both the teams have been eliminated from the tournament and they would want to end the tour on a high.

For Thailand, irrespective of the results, it has been a heartwarming story and as they made huge strides by making it to the T20 World Cup. Their appearance in the tournament is the story of the year so far. Their approach has been lauded by all. And the more they play, the better they will get eventually.

As far as Pakistan is concerned, it has been a disappointing tournament. Despite starting with a win against the Windies, the women in green went downhill from there. Lost both the matches against England and South Africa. The fact that their captain got injured and changed mid-way did not help.

It is hard to imagine Pakistan losing to Thailand on Tuesday. A win here would be a solace for them as they leave the island. Javeria Khan and Aliya Riaz will be the key players with the bat while Anam Amin and Diana Baig with the ball for Pakistan

For Thailand, Nattakan Chantam and Chanida Sutthiruang would be the players to watch out for.

Some times, it is not about winning. It is about trying to give your best and entertain the fans along the way. Both the teams can be proud of the fact that they did that successfully.
