COVID19: Government says extension of lockdown is not true

The government has rejected news reports that claimed that the COVID-19 lockdown will be extended in the country.

As of now, India is under a 21-day lockdown that will end on April 14. Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba clarified that reports of lockdown extension in certain sections of media and on social media are not true.

He also asked people not to believe on baseless news.

The 21 days lockdown was announced by PM Modi in order to control the coronavirus pandemic. He urged people to stay inside and to take care of themselves.

Considering the fact that India is yet to test major of its population, it will be interesting to see how the nation battles the spread once the lockdown is over.
