Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard in Windies’ reserve squad

West Indies selectors called in Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard in their reserve players’ list for the World Cup squad 2019.

Bravo, despite retiring from the international cricket is named in the reserves list whereas Pollard despite missing out an opportunity for a spot in the preliminary squad, has been named in the reserves after his performance in the IPL 2019 where he played a vital role in Mumbai Indians’ victory.

The reserves will participate in a four-day camp in Southampton from 19 to 23 May, which also includes an additional warm-up game against Australia on 22 May at The Rose Bowl.

The all-rounders Sunil Ambris and Raymon Reifer who was a part of Windies’ squad in the recently concluded tri-series, is in the backup squad as well. Ambris is named as the backup for Lewis who just recovered from the illness.

All eyes will be on Shai Hope, thanks to his brilliant form and Chris Gayle who will be playing his fifth and last World Cup.
