New Biriyani shop owner booked after his inaugural offer led to crowding

Since the lockdown is eased currently, the people are yet to realize that coronavirus is still out there and they should be following social distancing.

In one such incident, a biriyani shop owner was booked for unprecedented crowd. 29 years old Zahir Hussain recently opened a biriyani shop at Aruppukottai on Sunday and he had advertised that one plate of biryani would cost just Rs 10 on Sunday for the customers. This went viral and on Sunday, he had a huge number of crowd, violating the lockdown rules.

While the shop prepared more than 2500 packets, they were booked right after 500 packets were sold.

A police officer who was in charge made sure to give away the remaining packets to the needy.

The police also registered an FIR under various sections of the IPC including 188 [Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant], 269 [Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life], and 278 [Making atmosphere noxious to health] and the Epidemic Diseases Act and the Disaster Management Act.

They warned Hussain for his act and granted him a bail.
