It was the first Test of West Indies tour to India and was a 3-day match. There was no toss, and West Indies batted first. Gloria Gill scored 53 and West Indies ended up with 274. Shubhangi Kulkarni picked five wickets and Diana Edulji took two wickets.
In return, India had Shobha Pandit scoring 69 runs followed by Shanta Rangaswamy’s 74. The team declared at 269 for 6. Latty-Scott was the pick of the bowlers for West Indies, and she took 3 wickets.
In the 2nd innings, West Indies declared after scoring 175/5. Sharmila Chakraborty took 2 wickets for India.
India, while chasing 181, drew the match with 30/1.
