Hotel room where Maradona stayed during his visit to India in 2012 turned to museum

The hotel room where the football legend Diego Maradona stayed has been converted to a museum with his belongings after his demise. The legend passed away due to cardiac arrest recently. He was 60.

Talking about the room, Managing director of the hotel, Ravindran said, “When Maradona arrived in Kannur on October 23, 2012, he was staying in room number 309. For two days, Maradona stayed in this room. Being fans, we ensured an enjoyable stay. All things used by him back then are kept here in his memory.”

“All the objects used by the football legend back then are kept here in his memory. The room was later renamed ‘Maradona Suite’,” he added.

The belongings include his cigarette pieces, the tea cup he used, the bedsheet among others.
