Report: MS Dhoni delays his return to Ranchi, waits for all teammates to depart

Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni has reportedly delayed his return to Ranchi in order to help out overseas players in the team to get back home first. According to reports, Dhoni had said that he would be the last to board the flight back home.

According to reports in Indian Express, a member of CSK squad said, “Mahibhai said that he will be the last person to leave the hotel. He wanted foreigners to leave first, then the Indian players. He will be taking the last flight tomorrow when everyone reaches their home safe and secure.”

Indian Premier League 2021 was suspended because of the increasing cases inside the bubble. Since people from four out of eight franchise had tested positive, the BCCI said that they would be prioritizing players’ health first and had suspended the tournament.

The franchises had arranged flights for the overseas players to get back home safe. England team members were the first to leave while Australian members had to land in the Maldives and then had to return to Australia from there as direct flight from India wasn’t allowed by the Australian Government.
