Lisa Keightley becomes England women team’s 1st female head coach!

Former Australian cricketer Lisa Keightley becomes the first female coach of England’s women team.

Keightley holds the record of becoming the first woman to score a century at the Lords.

Keightley, 48, is currently the Head Coach of Western Australia in Australia’s domestic competition and Perth Scorchers in the Women’s Big Bash League.

Keightley will succeed Mark Robinson who left the team after their poor Ashes series.

Keightley will officially take up the position in January after the end of Big Bash League.

She will also step down from the coaching position with London Spirit in the Hundred.

Talking about the appointment, Clare Connor, Managing Director of England’s Women’s Cricket said: “Lisa was the stand-out candidate from a varied and highly talented group of applicants.”
