BCCI on Thursday announced the central contract for the cricketers and as expected, Mithali Raj has been demoted to Grade B. India will not be playing more ODIs this year and that is the main reason.
Indian T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur and the vice captain Smriti Mandhana along with Poonam Yadav occupies the Grade A contract.
Mithali Raj now joins Jhulan Goswami who also retired from the shortest format of the game along with Ekta Bisht, Jemimah Rodrigues and a few more players. Radha Yadav who has been phenomenal in the T20Is grabs the Grade B contract.
Shafali Verma bagged Grade C contract and will be India’s trump card for the World Cup.
Grade A (Rs 50 lakh): Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Poonam Yadav
Grade B (Rs 30 lakh): Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, Ekta Bisht, Radha Yadav, Shikha Pandey, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Taniya Bhatia
Grade C (Rs 10 lakh): Veda Krishnamurthy, Punam Raut, Anuja Patil, Mansi Joshi, D Hemlatha, Arundhati Reddy, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Pooja Vastrakar, Harleen Deol, Priya Punia, Shafali Verma
