Kousalya Khartika becomes first crorepati of Kodeeswari

Madurai’s Kousalya Khartika became the first crorepati in the Tamil version of KBC which is hosted by Radhika Sarathkumar recently.

Kousalya, who is hearing and speech impaired, works in the Principal District Court of Madurai as a junior assistant.

During an interview with an online portal, she said: “I have always depended on my family members for my day-to-day life. But, right from my childhood, I have been determined to learn and excel in whatever I do. I truly thank Colors Tamil for giving me the opportunity to participate in the show and fulfil my dreams. It was an exhilarating experience being on the hot seat with Radikaa Ma’am who made me extremely comfortable. I am more than honoured to be part of this iconic game show and equally proud to tell the world that ‘I am now a Kodeeswari’.”

When quizzed about how she was planning to spend the prize money, Kousalya revealed that she wanted to do her bit for needy people, especially in a school for the deaf and mute, where she studied. She also opened up about wanting to travel to Italy or Switzerland and revealed that it was her “dream” to visit the beautiful countries.
