TN State Government scraps classes 5, 8 Public exams

The Tamil Nadu State Government has withdrawn its decision to conduct Public exams for 5th and 8th classes.

Minister for School Education K.A. Sengottaiyan said, “The government has taken all this into consideration and has cancelled the government order to conduct examinations for classes 5 and 8. We will revert to the regular existing system of exams.”

The public exams for the classes 5th and 8th were announced months ago and evoked criticism from all parts of the nation with many of the activists claiming that it would add more pressure to the young students who are already writing three public exams, 10th, 11th and 12th.
