Bangladesh appoint Wasim Jaffer as academy batting coach

Probably one of the best batsmen in the domestic circuit if not the best, whom I always felt as unlucky for missing out playing for India for a long time, is appointed as the academy coach by Bangladesh Cricket Board.

The 41-year-old was in Bangladesh recently for playing in Dhaka Premier League representing Abahani Limited, and the selectors were impressed with the Veteran’s batting at the nets.

Jaffer’s input has always been valuable for the cricketers in Bangladesh, and Soumya Sarkar who trained along with Jaffer went to score a double hundred in a county.

This is Jaffer’s first international coaching assignment, and he will train Bangladesh Men’s team- U-19s, the A team and also the senior side.
