The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced that the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will resume on May 17, following a one-week suspension due to heightened security concerns stemming from escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
The season, which had been temporarily halted, will now continue with 17 remaining matches—including two Sunday double-headers—set to be played across six designated venues. While the names of the venues have been finalized, the BCCI has stated that the locations for the playoff fixtures will be revealed at a later date.
The schedule for the playoffs is as follows:
Qualifier 1 – May 29
Eliminator – May 30
Qualifier 2 – June 1
Final – June 3
The decision to resume the tournament comes after close coordination with national security agencies. The BCCI expressed its deep appreciation for the Indian armed forces and security personnel, whose efforts ensured a safe environment for the league’s resumption.
