Breaking: Women T20 challenge to take place in November

In a recent development in women’s cricket, the women’s T20 challenge is all set to take place in UAE from November 1 to 10, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly confirmed the news to Boria Majumdar of India Today.

The camp for the women will be from October. To add more, BCCI is also looking to get a series with South Africa done before the IPL and then they will be playing a series against the West Indies.

This is a huge news for sure during this tough times. Earlier, India had to cancel the tri-series with England and South Africa due to the increasing number of COVID19 cases.

Talking to PTI news, Ganguly said they cannot risk lives by organizing camps but they do have a plan.

“We couldn”t have exposed any of our cricketers — be it male or female to health risk. It would have been dangerous,” Ganguly said.”The NCA also remained shut because of COVID-19. But we have a plan in place and we will have a camp for women, I can tell you that,” he added

It will be interesting to see how things goes with all new bio-secure protocols. Also, at the same time, Cricket Australia has already planned WBBL tournament.
