Zimbabwe will be playing two tests against Afghanistan starting on March 2. They will also play three T20Is after the tests. They have announced their squad which didn’t feature the experienced duo of Taylor & Ervine as they missed the training camp due to illness, were thus not considered for selection. The side will also miss the services of Tendai Chatara, Chamu Chibhabha who are yet to recover from their right upper-arm and thigh muscle injuries. Peter Moor Picked up a hamstring injury during a practice match this week and he’s also ruled out of the series.
On the other hand, They will be bolstered by the return of Tarisai Musakanda who has played a solitary test against Proteas back in 2017. He recently made headlines for slamming two consecutive centuries for Midwest Team in the National Premier League. The team will be eyeing on the experience of Skipper Seam Williams, All-rounder Sikander Raza & Blessing Muzarabani. Young All-rounder Wesley Madhvere, who had a great outing in limited overs tour against Pakistan last November has been named & will be raring to go in his Test Debut.
In addition to this, Milton Shumba, Faraz Akram and Tinashe Kamunhukamwe will be joining the squad before the T20I series. The Zimbabwean team are set to leave for Abu Dhabi on Friday.
