Brendon McCullum recalls Ganguly’s words after his 158 in IPL 2008

Brendon McCullum gave the IPL a brilliant start with a ton in the first match.

Batting against RCB, McCullum smashed 158 from 73 deliveries. Talking about the knock, McCullum recalled what Ganguly said to him at that time.

“Dada said, ‘Your life is changed forever’, and I didn’t quite know what he meant at the time, but (in hindsight), I 100% agree with him”, he said.

McCullum who has been appointed as the coach of KKR said that the team is trying to play a style of cricket which is a great representation of Bengal.

“We’re trying to play a style of cricket which is a great representation of the people of Bengal and also Shah Rukh, Jay (Mehta) and all those involved in the franchise. Hopefully, we will be able to be successful, because I think we’ve got the right team for it as well,” he said.

McCullum is also the coach of CPL’s TKR who is doing extremely well in the CPL. The franchise had reached the final and is unbeaten in the tournament. They will take on Zouks.
