COVID19: Shoaib Malik is yet to meet family despite PCB’s permission

Shoaib Malik is likely to return to England without meeting his family due to the travel restrictions.

While the Pakistan team is currently in England getting ready for their matches against the hosts, Malik was given four weeks permission as he didn’t meet his family for months due to COVID19.

However, the travel ban in India for the international flights now has delayed their reunion. However, if the ban is released in the month of August there is a chance that he could meet his family as he will be joining the team only for the T20Is.

PCB now will wait till the second week of August before taking a call on the situation.

It is unlikely that the travel ban will be removed by August as there is huge rise in the number of COVID19 cases in India.

Talking about their separation to The New Indian Express, in May, Sania had said that she doesn’t know when they will meet again. “So he got stuck in Pakistan, I got stuck here. That was very difficult to deal with because we have a small child. We don’t know when Izhaan will be able to see his father again. It’s as basic as that.

“We are both pretty positive and practical people. He has a mother who is over 65 and by herself, so he needs to be there. So in the end, it worked out best that he was there with her. We hope we are healthy and come out of this on the right side of it,” she had said.
