 ‘Deep down Suryakumar must be disappointed to not have donned India blue,’ Kieron Pollard 

The stand-in Mumbai Indians captain Kieron Pollard opened up about Suryakumar Yadav’s performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore recently.

“Deep down inside he must be very, very disappointed to not have donned the blue for India,” Pollard said after the match.

“He just keeps getting better. Again, as an individual if you keep staying consistent, you will be rewarded. Nothing happens before its time. There is discussion around my batting position, I would love to be up there, taking the runs and hitting the runs, but we have to do what is the best for the team.”

Yadav came in at number three and took Mumbai Indians home with an unbeaten 79 from 43 deliveries.

His knock came hours after the announcement of the squad to Australia. Suryakumar’s exclusion created criticism considering the fact that Yadav has done well in recent times.
