F1, US Grand Prix: Hamilton wins his sixth title!

Lewis Hamilton wins his sixth title at the US Grand Prix with two more races to go in the 2019 Grand Prix, and closes in on Michael Schumacher’s all-time F1 record of seven championships.

Hamilton, 34, overtakes former Mercedes driver Juan Manuel Fangio.

The result also confirms Mercedes as the first team in F1 history to have won six consecutive world championship doubles, having clinched the constructors’ title at last month’s Japanese Grand Prix.
