Tokyo 2020: Both Men and Women Indian Hockey team qualifies!

It’s a great evening for the Indian fans as both men and women’s Hockey team qualified for the Olympics in Tokyo 2020.

Women:

In the first match on Friday against the USA, India won by 5-1 and went with a four goal aggregate lead on Saturday.

The USA gave it all and managed to score four goals in the first half, equalling the goal aggregate. However, the Indian captain Rani Rampal’s strike gave India the lead once again.

Though the USA won the match by 4-1, India goes to Tokyo.

Men:

Russia was no match to the Indian team in both the matches as the team defeated Russia by 11-3 aggregate.

After winning the first match by 4-2, India showed some brilliance to finish off Russia in the second match by 7-1. With this, the team qualifies for the 21st time and has missed out only in 2008.
