Fadnavis quits as CM, says we don’t have numbers after Ajit Pawar’s resignation

In yet another day of Maharashtra’s political drama, Devendra Fadnavis has resigned from the Chief Minister’s position after Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s resignation.

He said he staked claim to form the government only after Ajit Pawar – who was then NCP’s legislative party leader – pledged his support. But today after the SC’s order, he said, Ajit Pawar came and told he didn’t want him to continue. Hence the government lost its majority and could not continue.

We don’t have a majority after Ajit Pawar’s resignation as deputy CM, says Fadnavis. We shall sit in the opposition, become the voice of the people, he added.

He also thanked Amit Shah for his continuous support and added that BJP will continue to fight for people’s issue.
