Goals: Since nursery, classmates carry polio attacked kid to school daily!

Friends are a certainly essential part of our life and in the case of 16-year-old Lakshmish Naik, it is more than that.16-year-old Lakshmish was affected by Polio when he was just a year old.

Today, he is leading a normal life just like other kids, apart from the fact that he cannot walk. However, with friends by his side, Lakshmish is doing well.

Right from his childhood, he had friends who would carry him daily to the school and would help him with other things as well. Now, the kid is all grown up and is 16 years old. Still, his friends continue to carry him.His class teacher says: “Marks can be achieved at any stage in the life of a student but what we provide to them as soul tonic is the foundation on which they will manoeuvre through life with ease and confidence.”“For six years, I have observed them first-hand, and I am happy that many others will now read their story and be inspired.”

When she asked the students whether carrying Lakshmish was difficult, and even before she could complete her question, his friends answer in unison, “Not at all, Ma’am. There are so many of us, and all we have to do is come together to help him out.”

Talking to Lakshmish, he says, “I am not sure I would have come this far if not for their support. I have always known that no matter what, my friends will always be there to help me. Whether it has been for a school event or everyday tasks, my friends have been there to take me along.”The kids are currently studying in 10th standard and now, right after the results, the kids are all set to follow their own goals.

His friends added that they would miss him badly as he became their family and it was he who helped them out when it came to the academics.
