If MS Dhoni is fit, he should play: Wasim Jaffer

Former cricketer Wasim Jaffer wrote in a tweet that if MS Dhoni is fit, the Indian team need not look past him for the T20 World Cup.

The former Indian captain last played on July 9, 2019 in the ODI World Cup semifinal. Both the fans as well as the team management were expecting to see how Dhoni plays in the IPL.

With the IPL getting postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Dhoni is yet to play an official match post the World Cup.

The T20 World Cup is scheduled in September and currently, India is using KL Rahul as the keeper in T20IS with Rishabh Pant not getting a chance to play.

Wasim Jaffer wrote that of Dhoni is fit, he should be playing and that might give the team management a good chance to play both Rahul and Pant as a pure batsman.

The IPL is suspended till April 15, 2020. Depending upon how the situation of the pandemic goes in the upcoming days, we might get to know whether Dhoni will get to play any matches ahead of the international schedule in June.
