MS Dhoni had a dream about a record in ODI and he didn’t achieve it!

In 2005, MS Dhoni became a star when he was promoted up the order. He smashed Pakistan for a brilliant ton and in the same year, he proved the critics wrong who marked him as one-match wonder. He smashed 183* and jaw-droppingly took India home that day against a mighty Sri Lankan team.

After winning that match, Dhoni started to make heads turn and there were thousands of fans behind him already.

During one of his interviews in that year, Dhoni was asked about how he felt about the fan following, his dream and so on.

Talking about his fan following, Dhoni said that he was shocked to see so many people asking for his autograph, and he added that it felt new. He also thanked the fans for showing trust in him and he wanted to make sure he never disappoint them.

He was just two tons old that time and when he was asked about his future dream in the ODIs, Dhoni revealed that he wanted to score a double ton in the ODIs and he also added that he was confident of doing so.

Well, things did change drastically when he became the captain of the Indian team. The double ton became a distant dream as he started to play lower down the order.

Had he played at the top of the order, who knows, he could have broken the records even more but again, we would have missed the captain cool.
