It was yet another blistering performance from Shafali Varma who along with the captain of India A team Veda Krishnamurty took the team home.
Batting first, India was 48 for 2 when the duo joined. They added 119 runs together and took India to 312 in their 50 overs.
Shafali smashed 124 off 78 with 19 fours and 4 sixes. Veda Krishnamurty had 16 fours and a six in her 99-ball 113.
For Australia, Tahlia McGrath was the star with both bat and the ball as she picked up three wickets and also scored 97. While Annabel Sutherland scored 52, the team managed only 296 in their 50 overs.
Devika Vaidya was the star with the ball for the Indian team as she picked up four wickets.
The second match of the series will be played on Saturday.
