IND vs ENG- All-round India wins 3-1, reaches WTC final

India looked like they were playing in a different pitch as the team proved too good for visitors, England, once again.

Batting first, England once again had a poor start, blame Axar Patel. While Patel was running through the batting order, he had support from Ashwin and Siraj.

Axar had 4 wickets, Ashwin had 3, Siraj 2 and Washington 1 as England got out for just 205. Stokes and Lawrence were the stand-out performers for England, had 55, 46 runs.

In return, Stokes, Anderson led the bowling attack for the team, dismissed the top order while Rohit was left stranded at one end. The opener got out for 49 and then it was Pant’s show. With 13 fours and 2 sixes, Pant turned things around, got 110 from 118 balls. He had good support from Washington who took over when Pant left.

Washington and Axar had a good partnership on Day 3, took India past 300. After Axar fell for 43, Stokes took down the lower order and it was unfortunate that Washington remained unbeaten on 96*. The team had 365 on board.

In return, Axar and Ashwin took five wickets each as England had no answers for India.

India ended with an innings and 25 runs win, now, is qualified for World Test Championship Final and will meet New Zealand at Lord’s.
