India’s tour to Australia postponed

India’s tour to Australia has been postponed to the next season, right before the 2022 World Cup, confirmed Cricket Australia on December 31st.

India were supposed to tour to Australia this January according to the early plans but since the World Cup has been postponed to next year, India’s tour has been postponed as well.

Talking about the event, Nick Hockley, interim CEO of CA, said that the global pandemic has pushed the tour to the next season.

India last played an international match in March where they played the final against Australia in the 2020 World Cup T20. Right after the tour, the pandemic took over and a lot of tours and matches were cancelled due to the same.

While there is no official announcement regarding the comeback of women’s game, the men’s team is currently in Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
