Royal Challengers Bangalore moves to the top of the table once again after making four out of four in this IPL.
RCB called it right at the toss and opted to bowl at Wankhede on Thursday. The team included Richardson for the first time and Patidar had to sit out. Rajasthan also brought Gopal in the place of Unadkat.
Batting first, Rajasthan lost early wickets and found themselves at 18 for 3 and then 43 for 4. Though the bowling was good, the team had to blame themselves for playing some poor shots.
Shivam Dube and Riyan Parag brought the team back into the attack. Parag after his 16-ball 25, got out once again without converting his start.
However, Dube stood there, added 46 runs to the total and then Tewatia added important 40 runs to take the team to 177. Siraj was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets to his name.
Though it was a great recovery, it wasn’t enough especially on a surface like this.
As expected, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal went berserk right from ball one, batted as if they were playing on a different surface. The bowling of RR weren’t upto the mark as well, made it easier for the Padikkal and Kohli.
Padikkal then went on to score a brilliant ton and Kohli, who began slowly compared to Padikkal, made it up with some pretty shots, to finish at 71* from 46 balls.
