Jaipur to host Women IPL-like T20 exhibition matches!

The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur will be hosting the women’s T20 exhibition matches from May 6-10.

There will be three teams- Trailblazers, Supernovas and Velocity.

Each team will play a match against each other once and the two teams topping the table will battle out in the final.

Last year, the one-off Women’s T20 Challenge was held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai ahead of the IPL Qualifiers. Two teams- Trailblazers and Supernovas- battled it out at the scorching sun as the match had a 2 pm start.

This time, a new team Velocity is included and will be captained by Mithali Raj.

The players from the West Indies, England are expected to participate along with the players from Australia and New Zealand.

South African players might miss out as they will take on Pakistan at the same time.

Though there has been no official statement from the Board yet, the RCA officials have confirmed that all the four games will be played under the lights.
“As of now, we have been told that the matches will be held from 8 pm. We hope to get a clearer picture in the next couple of days,” the RCA official said.

Jaipur is one of the eight IPL venues and is a home base for Rajasthan Royals.
