JEE and NEET entrance exams to be scheduled in July

Ramesh Pokhriyal, Minister of Human Resources and Development announced the dates for Engineering and Medical entrance exams on Tuesday.

Joint Entrance Exams(Mains), an entrance for engineering will be held from July 18 to July 23. JEE(Advanced) will be held after that in August.

National Entrance cum Eligibility Test, an entrance for medical colleges, will be held on July 26.

The HRD minister said that the announcement on the fate of CBSE class 10 and 12 board exams will be out soon in online interaction.

All entrance and board exams had to be postponed owing to the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak in the country.

It has been reported that more than 15 lakh students have enrolled themselves for the NEET entrance exams and 9 lakh for the JEE.

The ministry have given an option to change the exam centers due to the lockdown as students can’t move freely between cities and states.

Colleges, schools and universities were shut down in March and are expected to be open only in August.

Because of the sudden lockdown, few CBSE board exams are yet to happen and the Ministry has said that the dates will be announced soon.
