Marizanne Kapp forced retired hurt after elevated heart rate

The South African all-rounder Marizanne Kapp was forced to retire hurt after elevated heart beat while batting for the Sydney Sixers in the ongoing WBBL.

The fast bowler was batting with Ellyse Perry at Blacktown International Sportspark when she went on her haunches at the non-striker’s end.

She was immediately the field and was advised not to bowl for the day as she already has pre-existing heart condition. She normally wears heart beat monitor to keep things in check.

While there was no call taken on her future availability, she was immediately taken to the hospital as precautionary measures.
