T20 WC, 14th match, IND v SL: India remain unbeaten in the group stages

India remains unbeaten in the group stages of the ICC World Cup 2020, thanks to the team performance. For India, there is no individual. The team bonded well and the performance is speaking for themselves.

India took on Sri Lanka on Saturday and this match is just a test for the team, considering the fact that they were already qualified.

Batting first, Sri Lanka once again had their captain coming good with 33 off 24 and once again every single player left her stranded, alone. She definitely belongs to a different universe and deserves a better team. Sri Lanka then had their superstar Dilhari coming good today, scoring 25 to take the team to 113.

India had all their five bowlers doing well today. Gayakwad had two wickets whereas, Radha Yadav grabbed four wickets and she now has at least a wicket in the last consecutive 22 matches.

In return, Sri Lanka’s butterfingers kept giving Shafali Verma opportunities yet she fell three runs short of her first half-century. However, her 47 eased the pressure and this match witnessed Kaur batting ahead of Jemimah Rodrigues. She played a cameo but her runs draught continues as she couldn’t finish off the game. India then turned to Jemimah and Deepti to finish it off and they did.

India will have a few days rest before gearing up for the semi-finals.
