  • India had 8 debutants in the match ( Thirushkamini, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Niranjana Nagarajan, Shublakshmi Sharma, Punam Raut, Shikha Pandey, Ekta Bisht)
  • England had two- (Sonia Odedra, Lauren Winfield who turns 28 today)

After being put on to bat first, Niranjana’s four-for reduced England to 92 in the first innings. In reply, India managed to add 40 runs for the first wicket, but Jenny Gunn’s five-for brought England back to the game. India ended their first innings with 114 on the board, thanks to the little partnership between Jhulan Goswami and Niranjana.

In the second innings, England managed to score 202. This time it was Jhulan Goswami’s four-for.

Chasing 182 to win, India added 76 for the first wicket with Smriti scoring a fifty. Mithali Raj scored a match-winning fifty in the end as India defeated England by six wickets.
