Thanks to their commanding performances against West Indies and South Africa, The Pakistan Cricket Board announced an improved contract lists for the Women cricketers. The contracts will commence on 1 July. Previously, six-month contracts were signed with ten of the elite cricketers.
There a 20% increase in the retainer remuneration of category A, 18.5% increase in category B and 18% increase in Category C.
Category A:
Nida Dar and Sana Mir
Category B:
Aliya Riaz, Bismah Maroof, Javeria Wadood, Nashra Sandhu, Sidra Ameen and Sidra Nawaz
Category C:
Diana Baig and Nahida Khan.
A whopping 100% increase in the daily allowances was announced for the matches in Pakistan and a 50% increase for all the matches outside Pakistan.
Also, the board announced business class travel on all international flights for more than five hours.
For all the domestic tournaments, a fee of PKR10,000 announced.
The negatives from the contract is that the contracted players are reduced to 10 from 17, also, the star players like Maroof, Javeria are demoted. It’s hideous to see the captain of the team gets demoted after being one of the reasons for the team’s great performance in the recent times.
Currently, Pakistan is placed fifth in the ICC ODI championships and with two more rounds to go, Pakistan does have a great chance of qualifying directly for the 2021 World Cup.
