Pollard fined for Code of conduct breach in IPL Final

Kieron Pollard has been fined 25% of his match fee for showing disagreement to the umpire’s decision.

The 32-year-old Pollard, top-scored for Mumbai Indians with a 25-ball 41* which helped the team to post on a total of 149. During the knock, Pollard was visibly unhappy with the decision made by the umpire Nitin Menon who refused to give a delivery which was outside off stump as wide.

Mocking the decision, Pollard went on to take strike well away from the stumps and near the ‘wide-line’ before pulling away as the bowler ran in.

The on-field umpires Nitin Menon and Ian Gould then went to have a chat with Pollard who went back to his normal stance.

“Mr Pollard admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials and accepted the sanction,” read the statement.
