Shoaib Malik to meet Sania Mirza and their son after 5 months

Pakistan Cricket Board grants permission to all-rounder Shoaib Malik to travel to meet his wife, the Tennis legend, Sania Mirza and their son.

Malik and Mirza did not meet due to COVID19. He was in Pakistan whereas, Mirza and kid were in India.

The 29-member squad will be touring to England on June 28th where they will be playing Tests and T20Is. First, they will undergo 14-day quarantine period and will begin to train based on the procedure in England.

Now, the Board has allowed Malik to join late to the tour.

“Unlike the rest of us, Shoaib Malik has not seen his immediate family for nearly five months,” PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said in a statement.

“As travel restrictions are now slowly easing out and there is an opportunity for a family reunion, it is appropriate that at a human level we show compassion as part of our duty of care and respect Shoaib’s request.”

Malik who has retired from Tests and ODIs will join the squad for the T20Is by the end of July.
