Sri Lankan pacer Shehan Madushanka has been found in possession of illegal drugs.
The policemen told AFP that he had two grams of heroin when caught on Sunday.
The cricketer along with his friend had two grams of heroin in their car which was stopped by the policemen for the checkup during the lockdown.
The magistrate has ordered a two-week custody for the Wennappuwa-born cricketer before being produced before the High Court. Sri Lanka Cricket is understood to have been apprised of the development and will be expected to make an official comment shortly.
Talking about his career, he represented Sri Lanka in three international matches and has five wickets to his name.
He took a hattrick in his only ODI match which was against Bangladesh.
