Shikhar Dhawan who was forced to undergo knee surgery after picking up an injury during Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is ruled out of WI T20I series and will be replaced by Sanju Samson.
Dhawan injured himself when he tried a full-stretched dive to make his ground but unfortunately got deeply cut by a piece of wood which was present in his batting pad. Dhawan realised that he was bleeding only after he went back to the dugout after being dismissed, a scenario similar to Shane Watson’s injury during the final of IPL 2019.
Coming back to the T20I series which begins on December 6th at Hyderabad, Sanju Samson might take up the one-down position and KL Rahul might open the innings. Well, hopefully. Sanju Samson certainly deserves an opportunity.
