South Africa’s Theunissen passes away in road accident

The former South African all-rounder Elriesa Theunissen-Fourie dies in a road accident on April 5.

The 25-year-old Theunissen-Fourie played three ODIs and a T20I for South Africa, making her ODI debut against Sri Lanka and last played in a series in September 2013.

Theunissen-Fourie, who would have been 26 this May 2, was also a part of the 2013 South African World Cup squad. In domestic cricket, she represented the North West Dragons and was a coach as well before taking the maternity leave ahead of the birth of her first child.
