Sripali Weerakkody announces retirement from international cricket

Sri Lankan bowler Sripali Weerakkody announces retirement with immediate effect.

I have decided to call it a day. So I feel this is the right time for me,” Sripali was quoted by Sri Lanka Cricket in the official statement.

The 34-year-old represented Sri Lanka in 89 ODI internationals and 58 T20 internationals.

Her last appearance in Sri Lanka jersery came in 2018. It was also in a World Cup match, the fixture against Bangladesh in the 2018 T20 World Cup in Gros Islet.

She recently became the first Sri Lankan woman to qualify as a master and fitness trainer.
