All set for a dream final between India and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on International Women’s Day.
MCG. 80000 fans. T20 World Cup Final. India takes on the hosts in their maiden T20 final.
The pressure is clearly on India here, as Australia are a stronger team, despite the absence of Ellyse Perry.
Though they defeated Australia in their inaugural match, India is too reliant on Shafali Verma for the starts. The lack of contribution from Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur has not affected them so far.
However, on the big day, they would want their captain and opener to be at their best. Shafali should be playing in her usual aggressive mode, while the middle-order that compromise of Veda Krishnamurthy, Harmanpreet and Jemimah Rodriguez.
In the bowling department, Poonam Yadav has been the star. Shikha Pandey is the key with the new ball. But, the usage of Poonam’s overs is critical.
Similarly, with Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healey, Australia has got a solid opening combination that goes berserk in the Power Play.

Captain Meg Lanning is the key player for them in the absence of Perry. As far as bowling is concerned Megan Schutt will be leading the attack and spinners Jess Jonassen and Sophie Moneliuex are the trump cards.
Two well-matched up teams are fighting for the final glory. A series of broadcasting records could be broken tomorrow.
Australia knows how to win the World Cup. They have done it in the past. An India win, considering where they are in World Cricket at the moment, will do a Greater good for the growth of the women’s cricket.
Whether they can do it? We will have to wait and watch.
