T20 World Cup, Know your squad: West Indies

Possibly, the one that has everything on papers yet they fail miserably that it hurts.

After their fairytale World Cup win in 2016, they managed to make it to the semifinal of 2018 World Cup. However, since then the team has hit the rock bottom and they enter the World Cup with nine losses on the trot. Having said that, they all came against the sides which are the strong contenders to lift the cup.

However, the batting of the team has been horrible where they couldn’t cross 120 in most of the games. Considering the fire power of the team, this is below par.

Coming into the World Cup, West Indies would love to turn things around and they will hope that players with experience come good for them.

Hayley Matthews will be their trump card and a lot depends on her too along with Deandra Dottin and the captain Taylor.

Coming to their bowling, Anisa Mohammed with her experience is the player to watch out for.

In the match against India, Shamilia Connell’s early spell did make things hard for India and she holds the key as well.

Squad: Britney Cooper, Lee-Ann Kirby, Stafanie Taylor(c), Hayley Matthews, Chedean Nation, Deandra Dottin, Chinelle Henry, Shemaine Campbelle(w), Cherry Ann Fraser, Sheneta Grimmond, Aaliyah Alleyne, Afy Fletcher, Shamilia Connell, Shakera Selman, Anisa Mohammed
